In 2013, China received over 18 billion US dollars in various types of marine engineering equipment orders, accounting for approximately 29.5% of the world market share, an increase of 16 percentage points from 2012, surpassing Singapore and ranking second in the world. We have undertaken a total of 61 offshore engineering platforms and 1 drilling vessel, including 49 self elevating drilling platforms, accounting for more than half of the world's total.

In 2013, the national shipbuilding completion volume was 45.34 million deadweight tons, a year-on-year decrease of 24.7%, of which the sea vessels had a revised total tonnage of 15.51 million; The newly undertaken ship orders amounted to 69.84 million deadweight tons, a year-on-year increase of 242.2%, of which sea vessels had a revised total tonnage of 22.81 million. As of the end of December, the order volume of vessels held was 131 million deadweight tons, a year-on-year increase of 22.5%. Among them, sea vessels accounted for 42.46 million corrected total tons, and export vessels accounted for 88.1% of the total.

In 2013, China's shipbuilding industry continued to maintain its world leading market share in the three major indicators, with shipbuilding completion, new orders, and held orders accounting for 41.4%, 47.9%, and 45.0% of the world total, respectively. Among them, the number of new orders increased by 4.3 percentage points compared to 2012. New ship orders are further concentrated towards advantageous enterprises. In 2013, the top 20 enterprises received a total of 55.86 million deadweight tons of new orders, accounting for 80.0% of the national total, an increase of 5.5 percentage points from 2012. New breakthroughs have been made in high-tech ship orders, with the addition of six 174000 cubic meter dual fuel electric propulsion large liquefied natural gas (LNG) ships and four 83000 cubic meter large liquefied gas carriers (VLGC). We have undertaken a total of 64 large container ships with 8000 or more containers, accounting for approximately 40% of the world's total.
